ACH Engineers have experienced massive growth over the past few years. To maintain this growth a new eco-build office in Whenuapai was commissioned.
To provide a compact, energy efficient heating and cooling solution to match this brand new eco-building, and its wetlands reserve surroundings.
Plant deck space on this building site was the first primary challenge to be considered. To get around this issue a system configuration consisting of one VRF system and numerous small multi
split systems was decided upon to minimise condensing unit plant space. Our smallest multi split outdoors (3x MXZ-2D52VA) were selected for the building’s zonal AC split requirements, and also to
halve the total number of splits outdoor units required. The VRF outdoor unit selected was from Mitsubishi Electric’s high COP range of outdoor units which meant total unit footprint could be lessened
when compared to our standard offerings.
Manufactured with a multi-channel, flat-tube aluminium heat exchanger for increased heat exchange, the PURY-EP450YLM-A used here offers higher COPs when compared to our standard single module PURY Range.
This proved to be an added bonus for this eco-building and its overall running costs moving forward.
An AT-50B-J Central Controller has been installed on this site enabling complete system control of the VRF equipment at one convenient, central point. Three PAC-YT52CRA-J Local Controllers provide simple
group control for the three groups of VRF indoor units, so the use of the AT-50B-J Central Controller will also allow for higher level control of these units too.
