Warkworth Town Hall

The Warkworth Town Hall is a historical building that has stood at the heart of the community since it was built in 1910. After two years of refurbishments, the building now has plenty of functional space with the main hall, mezzanine meeting rooms and kitchen all available for public hire.
The Challenge
The historical nature of this building meant that an efficient HVAC solution was needed to fit within the compounds of this existing landmark of national significance. As this site is a community funded facility an energy efficient solution was also paramount.
The Mitsubishi Electric Solution
One Mitsubishi Electric City Multi Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) Heat Pump System was selected to serve the smaller rooms on this site. While one large Mitsubishi Electric
City Multi PUHY-P800YSKB-A VRF Heat Pump System matched with an Air Handler Unit (AHU), was deemed to be the best choice for the air tempering requirements of the main hall space.
The high COPs associated with the PUHY and AHU combination proved very attractive when looking at possible solutions for this large communal space. A Mitsubishi Electric AE200 Central Controller has also
been installed on-site, providing the added benefit of remote system control and an annual 365-day timer for even greater energy saving possibilities.
Due to the historical nature of this building the structural integrity needed to be maintained.
This lead to the outdoor units being installed in the carpark, away from the building itself. This ensured there was no visual impact to the overall heritage look of the building and outdoor noise concerns
were minimised.
