What’s in Season? Passionfruit

Even though the weather is getting colder outside, you can never quite beat tangy passionfruit to instantly take you back to summer!

Smoothies, desserts and baking can be made all the sweeter with passionfruit, ripe for the picking in April.

These small bursts of deliciousness are not only rich in colour, but are also a source of Vitamin C and fibre to unlock mental vitality and energy when you need it most.

Take your taste buds back to those warmer days with these super easy yet delicious Passionfruit, Mango and Chia Popsicles from 5+ A Day for the perfect after-dinner treat to remind you of summer!

Passionfruit, Mango and Chia Popsicles

Serves: Makes 10 to 12 popsicles   |     Preparation: 15 minutes     |     Cooking: none


Ingredients
  • Pulp of 6 passionfruit
  • 2 mango, peeled and chopped
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup light coconut milk (or more until mixture is pourable)

Method

1. Place mango and coconut milk in blender and whizz until smooth. Then add passionfruit and chia seeds and whizz briefly to mix through.

2. Place mixture in Popsicle mould or large ice tray with Popsicle sticks and freeze until solid (approx. two hours, faster if you use a modern popsicle maker).

NB: You can use coconut water instead of coconut milk
