Ecodan Hot Water Heat Pump easy installation and commissioning

Back to Articles
In the hot water heat pump market we focus a lot on efficiency and payback period. This is certainly important but what else makes these solutions practical and beneficial to the installer and the homeowner?

To aid the modern applications of buildings and environmental impact, Ecodan Hot Water Heat Pumps have many features that add a high amount of functionality and assistance to the installer and end-user.

Floor Dry Up Mode

Many underfloor heating (UFH) installations involve wet cement poured over the UFH pipework and then has to set. The tricky part is the dry time where it’s pivotal to prevent any cracking or unwanted movement, especially when another floor layer is added on top of the dried concrete.

Ecodan solves this by using Floor Dry Up Mode which lets you set step increment by as little as 1°C for 1 to 7 days to reach the desired UFH temperature. This method can be used to dry the concrete out and remain at target temperature whilst new flooring is added.

The Dry Up Mode can be programmed to suit the concrete type and installer preference for the build, making this one of the most practical features for UFH applications on the market.

The control is in your hands with energy monitoring and system analysis

Ecodan controllers have several ways to analyse the system again to help the installer and homeowner / tenant.

Easy diagnosis with SD Card Analysis

The SD Card System Analysis will start recording the system including:

  • flow temperature
  • setpoint
  • outdoor temperature
  • flow rate
  • pump speed
  • compressor frequency
The data provides the installer with the opportunity to diagnose the system after installation and make fine-tuning if necessary to meet the customers’ requirements.

Home automation system control

Ecodan can be controlled by connecting a MelcoBEMS Mini Interface to the indoor control board. MelcoBEMS Mini is a MODBUS interface that can enable the hot water and heating solution to be controlled and monitored by a high-end home automation or building management system in a commercial environment.

Evaluate energy usage at a glance with Energy Monitoring

This setting on the remote controller displays the energy consumed and delivered so the end-user can understand when the most energy is used and can check the consumption is low; especially if there is a high-cost electricity bill that month. We can take it one step further by adding smart energy meters to accurately monitor the electricity consumed using the Smart Grid Ready function. In addition to this, the user can set up auto recovery after power failure so the Ecodan System turns back on with all its settings as it was left and will continue to monitor energy use.

Ecodan is the next-generation in hot water and space heating

Ecodan Hot Water Heat Pump Systems are the most capable systems on the market, delivering functional and practical capability for both the installer and user. In this day and age with demands for quick, cost-effective application coupled with ongoing benefits, the Ecodan System is leagues ahead.
