This horizontal main range of R32 Hybrid Branch Controllers (HBC) feature plate heat exchangers, valve blocks, and pumps, allowing connection to 8 to 16 indoor units. Low Global Warming Potential (GWP) R32 refrigerant is used only between the HBC and the outdoor unit, significantly reducing the system’s overall refrigerant volume and minimising refrigerant presence in occupied spaces. Instead of refrigerant, water is used between the HBC and indoor units. Hybrid Branch Controllers are exclusively compatible with R32 Hybrid outdoor units, enabling simultaneous heating and cooling with heat recovery. This allows one zone to be heated while another is cooled, with recovered heat energy transferred between zones rather than expelled outdoors and wasted. The horizontal configuration allows for ceiling installation above hallways or foyers, further reducing the total refrigerant volume in occupied spaces.
