This emblem is your assurance of the very best in technology and quality as it represents Mitsubishi Electric’s continuing efforts in making our heat pumps the industry standard. Every Mitsubishi Electric Heat Pump is a product of painstaking research, relentless testing, and a resolute determination to improve upon vital performance characteristics. As a result, our heat pumps have become more durable, less costly to operate, quieter, easier to install and maintain, and better able to distribute air evenly throughout any type of interior. This kind of commitment to quality enables our products to create remarkably pleasant environments that will ultimately make your life more comfortable.
The brand Mitsubishi Electric is not to be confused with the brand Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. Both brands may share the 3 red diamonds but are manufactured in completely different factories to completely different specifications.
We recognise that noise affects comfort, so we constantly work to make our heat pumps as quiet as possible. Our GE Series High Wall and RapidHeat Floor Console Heat Pump indoor units are New Zealand’s quietest starting from just 19dBA*, indoor sound level. Because we want you to feel the warmth, not hear it.
The ability of a heat pump to work efficiently in low temperatures is not only important in areas where the temperature falls below zero degrees. Good low temperature performance is essential in all winter conditions. The technology behind this performance also allows a heat pump to perform better in areas with high humidity and at high altitude.
When it gets cold outside, a heat pump designed to cool needs to work overtime to produce heat and so its performance is reduced. A heat pump designed for cooling can disappoint when you need it most – when the temperature drops. We design for New Zealand homes, and therefore we design predominantly to heat. The result is year-round reliability and performance.
All our heat pumps are engineered for superior heating. You’ll stay snug no matter how cold it is outside and we guarantee this, even in outdoor temperatures as low as -15°C.
All our heat pumps are fitted with intelligent defrost technology to ensure that you get the best performance out of your heat pump when it gets cold.
When the temperature drops below zero, all heat pumps have to perform a “defrost cycle” to remove ice build up on the outdoor coils. This can mean that your heat pump will temporarily stop operating or will blow out cooler air.
Mitsubishi Electric has developed an advanced version of this, using Fuzzy Logic to learn, measure and record temperatures and running times. This data is then used to ensure defrost cycles are as fast, efficient and far apart as possible – so you can get heat quicker.
No other heat pump in New Zealand is guaranteed to perform at its peak from +7°C to –15°C. Our HyperCore Heat Pumps will not lower their heating performance even when it is snowing outside. So you can be assured that you will be kept snug throughout winter. HyperCore is also highly recommended for humid and high altitude areas.
Mitsubishi Electric proudly partners with Energy Star. Many Mitsubishi Electric heat pumps achieve the Energy Star Mark. A quality heat pump can provide up to four and a half times the amount of heat for the same price as running a conventional heater.
The ENERGY STAR® mark is the highest award for efficiency for a product in this category. So it is always a good indication that a product is in the top of its category. ENERGY STAR® is awarded to the most efficient models on the market rated at 7°C in each size range.
If you live in an area that regularly drops below zero in winter, it is important that you look for a heat pump that is able to provide good heating performance at 2°C or less. This will provide a much better indication of actual performance when temperatures drop. Mitsubishi Electric is transparent with its data recorded at 2°C and lower. If you live in a climate that is unlikely to get below freezing point in winter, purchasing a heat pump model that has earned the blue ENERGY STAR® mark could save you an extra $150 a year on your power bills.
A heat pump with additional energy saving features can help reduce your power bill and increase your heat pump’s efficiency even further by allowing you to accurately control your settings. Features like Mitsubishi Electric’s 7 Day Controller allow you to ensure you are able to come home and wake up to a comfortable temperature, without wasting heat when you do not need it. Our i-See Sensor automatically seeks out temperature differences then directs airflow to where it’s really needed, “i-save” Mode allow you to easily save your favourite settings and Econo Cool optimises energy saving in cooling mode. All of these are designed so you can get the most out of your heat pump.
